The Journey

Digit has worked with Reynolds since 2010, supporting their online needs for web development and digital marketing. This made us the Reynolds Innovation Team’s obvious choice to support the re-development of their web presence.

Reynolds asked Digit to help them deliver three very distinct requirements:

  1. A redesigned website, that would help the Reynolds brand sit comfortably amongst their peers in the national food service industry
  2. A new innovation hub, to enable Reynolds to showcase their service USPs to food professionals like chefs and restauranteurs
  3. A digital careers platform, to support recruitment across their operations.

After consulting with stakeholders across the business, we met each requirement using a WordPress multisite installation that created three separate but linked websites. We designed and implemented content publishing workflows for different user groups within the organisation, and trained internal users on SEO-friendly content publication. Traffic analysis of the existing site revealed the importance of mobile usage, so the design process was led by a “mobile-first” mantra, ensuring pages looked great and contained information for time-poor mobile-first chefs.

We slimmed down the navigation, developed a much cleaner look and feel that majored on quality food photography, and introduced a unique visual identity that separated the Reynolds brand from its competitors. The result was a site that truly represents the brand’s freshness, adaptability and creativity.
